Boater Operator Safety Training

Boat operator training is required for all University employees who drive ANY water vessel while conducting University business. This includes any personal vessel used for state business and has nothing to do with reimbursement of expenses. Refresher courses are required every three years.

Boater Safety Classes are conducted by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (DWF) at various locations throughout the State. Please note that UL Lafayette employees may not take the online boater safety course offered by DWF. For a list of live Better Boating Classes throughout the State, please click here
